Online Teaching Experiences
Two great resources for faculty working with UW Extended Campus are the ASG Best in Show and the gallery of tip sheets compiled by our designers.
ASG Best in Show
The Actions, Solutions, Growth project is a collaboration of UW Extended Campus, University of California, Irvine, and the University of Washington. To illustrate approaches to designing, developing, and teaching online courses, the ASG Best in Show website uses instructional overview videos and topic-focused interview videos of faculty sharing their online experiences. The focus is on online course orientation, content, and structure, on best practices for communicating and interacting with students, and on how to ensure student comprehension, high-quality assessments, and sustained student engagement.
Webinars
UW Extended campus regularly offers webinars about online learning so you can have the best practices and strategies to apply to your online classroom. You can catch any webinars you missed or rewatch the ones you found especially valuable on our webinars page.
IDeas: Strategies for teaching online
The ID team newsletter was developed to support and appreciate our hardworking faculty, featuring content that is hand-picked by the instructional design team on topics our faculty are interested in! Each issue includes the latest UW Extended Campus news, teaching tips and strategies, dates for upcoming webinars and live streams, and topical interviews with your fellow online instructors.
Tip Sheets
UW Extended Campus tip sheets are brief (two-sided) information sheets designed to provide faculty with convenient and concise explanations of selected aspects of course development. The gallery below is complete, but check back often, because the list is constantly expanding. Note that additional tip sheets are included on the ASG website.
If you have feedback or would like to suggest topics for additional tip sheets, please contact a designer.
