UW Milwaukee D2L briefly down 11/14/18

November 14, 2018

On Wednesday, November 14, from 5 p.m. to about 5:30 p.m., some UW Milwaukee websites will be unavailable, including D2L and Canvas. Please keep this in mind and do not submit assignments or attempt to take exams during this time if possible. If you have questions, please connect with UW Milwaukee’s Help Desk.

Technical Difficulties

We are currently experiencing difficulties with our ticketing system and our response time is a little slower than normal. We appreciate your patience as we work through this issue. If you need assistance, please feel free to call 877-724-7883.

UW Milwaukee Power Outage and Intermittent Issues

October 10, 2018

This morning, a power outage at a UW Milwaukee facility has made access to some campus services less reliable. UITS technologists have stabilized affected services but sporadic outages may occur.

  • Accessing D2L or Canvas with UWM 1Login (your ePantherID) may sporadically fail
  • Students and instructors may be unable to change their passwords (which can be an issue should their password expire today)

If you or your students encounter issues, please contact the UWM Help Desk (helpdesk@uwm.edu, 414-229-4040) or visit gettechhelp.uwm.edu for a snapshot view of outage updates under the “Unplanned Outages” heading.

PRISM Unplanned Outage

UPDATE: PRISM is back up and running. Thank you for your patience!


PRISM has been experiencing connection problems this afternoon. As result, users are unable to access the PRISM application at this time.

We are working to restore service shortly. We will post you an update shortly on estimated time to restore services.

UW Milwaukee Password Reset

September 27, 2018

UW Milwaukee students are required to reset their passwords every six months. Once your password reset deadline has passed, you may be locked out of accounts. Please check on the status of your UWM ePantherID password expiration on the UWM Identity Management page. A link on the right side of that page will also let you reset your password.

Should you need assistance, please contact the UWM Help Desk by submitting a ticket on their site or by calling 414-229-4040.


UW Milwaukee students who have not reset their passwords may be locked out of their accounts after Thursday, September 27, 2018.

You can check on the status of your UWM ePantherID password expiration on the UWM Identity Management page. A link on the right side of that page will also let you reset your password.
