George serves as Chief Academic Officer of UW Extended Campus. Through Continuing Education offices on 13 campuses, UW Extended Campus resources reach people throughout the state of Wisconsin. George plays a leadership role in the development, implementation and oversight of education opportunities that meet the needs of both traditional and nontraditional students.
George has over 30 years of experience in leadership, communication, fundraising, program development and management in for-profit, nonprofit and higher education organizations. Prior to joining UW Extended Campus in 2011, George served as director of continuing education and regional workforce development at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and as executive director of Be Active Minnesota and director of Medical and Community Education for the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation.
He holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) from Edgewood College, with a concentration in Higher Education Leadership and Administration. He earned a Master of Public Health from the University of Northern Colorado with specializations in health education and public health administration. His Bachelor of Science is from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, in adult health and fitness and exercise physiology with a concentration in business administration.
His certifications include Graduate Certificate in Adult Education from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, Certified Contract Trainer (CCT) through the Learning Resources Network, and Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) through the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing.
